The Tin Angel, Always a “10!” -   The Tin Angel 3201 West End Avenue Nashville, TN 37203 May 2018 Bacon-Wrapped Black Mission Figs with goat cheese and spiced honey! These figs are an amazing combination of flavors. It’s the one appetizer that we are always sure to start with. You will want to also! The fresh baked bread and flavored butter is also a must. You receive a round loaf large enough for a party of four. If you can’t finish it, you will want to take it back with you. It’s that good! The Dinner Specials that evening, the evening of our 17th wedding anniversary, ...
Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint - Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint 7238 Nolensville Road | Nolensville, TN 37135 615-776-1856 www.martinsbbqjoint.com May 2018 Wow! Real Bar-B-Que! Where do I start? Owner, Patrick Martin knows his bar-b-que! When you walk into the Nolensville location for the first time, you’re not quite sure where to start but you can quickly get guidance from an employee or follow the crowds! After walking up to the counter, making your food and beverage selections just pay for your meal, fill your beverage of choice, find a seat and they will bring your order to you. If you’ve never been to a Martin’s location before, ...
The French Market Creperie – Farragut - MAY 2018 The French Market Crêperie– Farragut (French Restaurant & European Café) 161 Brooklawn Street Farragut, TN 37934 (865) 288-7912 Where in the Crepe Have you Been? The French Market Crêperie! I visited this quant French-like café with an awesome, authentic atmosphere. (Well, as authentic as I imagine a café in Paris must be like as I have never visited). I sought out recommendations for a breakfast location in the Farragut-area of Knoxville through Facebook and my friend Christie suggested I try The French Market Crêperie. After looking at the menu online, and wanting to try something entirely outside of ...
Food Review: Little House of Pancakes – Gatlinburg, TN 9/30 - Little House of Pancakes 807 East Parkway | Gatlinburg, TN This is our favorite “pancake house” in the Gatlinburg area.  It’s family owned and operated by Wanda Clemens and has been for the last 22 years. Wanda’s daughters worked at the restaurant when they were 9 and 12 seating customers. Our favorite server, Amy, has been there 14 years. The food is consistently delicious, fresh and hot! Whether you’re in the mood for pancakes, eggs, country fried steak, biscuits, toast, or anything else breakfast, this is the place to visit.  Our recent visit I ordered the #6 (country fried steak and ...
Food Review – Bravo! Cucina Italiana 9/28 - 9/28/17Bravo! Cucina Italiana 106 Major Reynolds Place | Knoxville, TN 37919 When I called Bravo! to make reservations for two on the 28th, I had the pleasure of speaking with Monx. He was super friendly and asked if anyone in our party was celebrating an event.  When we arrived we were greeted by none other than Monx and two Hostesses. I have to say, these three are perfect for their positions because they’re the first point of contact. They were highly professional appearance and friendly attitude.  We we’re seated in an open corner (I don’t think there’s a bad seat ...
Bluewater Grille -  After a friend suggested this restaurant I did a little investigating. She said that they get fresh seafood flown in daily. This piqued my interest because my husband loves grouper and we were going to be celebrating a special occasion – our 16th wedding anniversary. Of course I wanted to do something very special for my husband and this sounded like it may be it. I called and spoke with Matthew Barnes, the Manager and he confirmed this. He also said there would be no problem ordering in the group for our upcoming dinner. I was so excited! I reserved ...
REVIEW Little Nicky’s New York Pizza - Little Nicky's New York Pizza 3/3/2016 Knoxville, TN I went to this restaurant to try it out after many suggestions of members in one of my Knoxville Facebook "foodie" Groups. Time and time again this name kept popping up. It was then that I knew this was a place I just had to try! If you're looking for a fancy restaurant with table linens and metal silverware, this is not it. If you're looking for great food with a reasonable price, then you definitely want to come here and try their food firsthand. Upon entering the first thing I noticed ...
REVIEW Aroma Cafe -   Aroma Café 5/23/2016 Maryville, TN Wow! If you've never eaten at Aroma Café in Maryville, you truly don't know what you're missing. It's a taste of Cuba right in my backyard. It's a small restaurant, nothing too fancy, and is a quite casual atmosphere. When park, and it's a small parking lot so carpool if possible, you can smell the aromas coming from inside this restaurant. It's a delightful "aroma!" The restaurant is owned by Javier Migoya who is from Little Havana in Miami and was born in Cuba. Aroma Café opened in April 2008. Everything his homemade and ...
REVIEW Newk’s Eatery - Newk's Eatery 9/6/2016 Knoxville, TN (Cedar Bluff) This was our first visit to Newk's Eatery and was a recommendation of a friend and we're so glad she recommended it to us. It is our new favorite place for dinner on Tuesday nights. Our first time there we were greeted by friendly staff (Mya especially) but all of the staff members were pleasant. We were surprised at the number of menu choices there were on the board. It was quite difficult to decide what to order since everything sounded great. I opted for the 10-inch Margherita pizza and a cup of ...
REVIEW Carolina Ale House - Carolina Ale House 10/25/2016 Knoxville, TN Our typical Tuesday evening generally leads us to a different local restaurant but, this night, we wanted to switch things up. We ended up at the fairly new Carolina Ale House near Cedar Bluff. It was about 7:15 and we were seated, as requested, at a booth in the bar area. Our server approached our table fairly quickly but, the drinks seemed to take a bit of time. I guess it was understandable considering the bar trade on a World Series game night. Our server returned and took our order and, of course, I ...
REVIEW Quaker Steak & Lube - 10/29/2016 Quaker Steak & Lube Knoxville, TN My husband and I used to visit a different location about 30 minutes away but our experience wasn't the greatest. The food was excellent but the management lacked personality. They've been closed some time now. So, you can imagine how happy we were when a new location opened in our area. We decided to check it out this afternoon because my husband was in the mood for chicken wings. The location is in a busy part of Knoxville, very close to the West Town Mall and a wing competitor (Hooter's) but it's an ...
REVIEW O’Charley’s Restaurant + Bar - 10/28/2016 O'Charley's Restaurant + Bar Maryville, TN It had been a very long day and, since neither of us wanted to cook, we were looking for a place for a great cobb salad for my husband. We looked at several restaurant options and ended up at O'Charley's. Of course, I was undecided as to what I would order but, since we had not been into this location in about 2 years, I thought it was time for a review. Our server, Charlie, was very helpful and friendly even though the restaurant was very busy. Onto the menu... It had certainly ...
REVIEW Naples Italian Restaurant - 6/5/2016 Naples Italian Restaurant Knoxville, TN It was our anniversary and, rather than go to our usual restaurant of choice, I suggested we do something different. I suggested Naples Italian Restaurant because, even though we'd lived in Knoxville, we had never been there. I called as we left home and made reservations. Having not been there before, I wasn't sure if we were going to be able to get one on such short notice. We were in luck! When we arrived the first thing I noticed was the age of the building. This is not a bad thing necessarily, I ...
