Cauliflower Pizza Crust
Cauliflower Pizza Crust
Ingredients
1 head cauliflower
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 large egg
Directions
Take the head of cauliflower and remove from stalk. Take florets and wash. Drain and place in a food processor and pulse until small crumbles. Remove from processor and microwave in a microwave-safe dish (with 1/4 cup water) for 6-8 minutes. Once “steamed,” remove Cauliflower and, using cheesecloth, strain; removing as much moisture as possible.
Add to large mixing bowl; add mozzarella, oregano, basil, salt, garlic powder and egg. Using a spatula, thoroughly combine all ingredients.
Special Note: If using a pizza stone, do not bake in excess of the maximum temperature for your stone! Your stone may crack or explode.
Place on a sheet pan and form in the desired shape. Bake crust for 15 minutes at 500°. Add sauce and toppings and bake an additional 5-7 minutes at 500°.
Let stand for 1-2 minutes for the crust to continue to firm. Serve. Enjoy!
