Caramel-Filled Dark Chocolate Cookies
I don’t recall a time when I’ve ever thought to use dark cocoa powder but I was intrigued when I saw a recent post on Pinterest. I saw a recipe for these dark chocolate cookies with caramel oozing out of the center. The photo literally made me salivate! That was the moment when I knew I had to attempt to make them!
If you make these cookies, and I hope you do, please make sure that you read the entire article and recipe steps, all the way through. Make sure not to add the sugars (brown and white) to the dry ingredients. You will cream those with the butter and egg, even though it’s a dry ingredient.
I would also recommend that you use the caramels that are suggested, I didn’t and that may have changed the results of the finished cookie. Don’t get me wrong, the cookies were delicious, and I want to try them again, making them the exact way the recipe suggests, to see if I can get that ooey, gooey caramel that I wanted to achieve.
